Stop making me green with envy Paul! Well as you probably know Adelaide is
by far the driest capital in Australia and South Australia the driest state
so that results in some pretty boring weather and some unbelievable misses
as well :-(
However that does mean that when a storm finally makes it here it is
unbelievably exciting. Tarree is not only a nice scenic spot but it has that
lovely moist Pacific Ocean to feed lots of moisture onto you to create those
storms. Actually the whole of the East Coast of Australia is lucky with that
Pacific Ocean. The best we can do here is just read and imagine what it
would be like. The 4 day forecast here is not exciting but not too bad.
Saturday Fine and hot 28C, Sunday Afternoon showers 22C, Monday Cool a few
showers 17C and Tuesday a shower ot two and 18C. No mention of storms. This
month hasn't been too bad with 61.2mm falling and an average of 51mm for the
month.

Howdy all! Its hard to say what is going on here at the moment. North of me
we have altocumulus mackerel sky, cirrus, south of me castellanus...and all
round cumulus mediocris & congestus! So theres some instability there! The
barometer is falling and is now at 1022mb. Temp is 28.2 (under high cloud)
and the humidity is 60%.....so what do we think?

My grandparents live very close to Airey's Inlet and yesterday recorded
11.5mm of rain/hail (only small hail) in 10 minutes. Also very storng
winds. They said they went into Airey's Inlet after the storm and didn't
see any hailstones but road was pretty wet.

I will be keeping an eye on the weather and will contact you if it looks
like storms. Disappointed today, I really though we would have had an
outside chance, there must have been a very weak ( I mean weak ) surface
trough yesterday, even the sea breeze today was light, unlike yesterdays
typical 20 knots NE sea breeze.

There was some Cu on the far SW horizon that showed some vertical growth
around 2pm. ( I was at Mittagong ), but nothing came of it.

Yes,

I could see it from here Michael. They do indicate that something will be on
tomorrow. Where do we head?

I will be deciding in the morning.

Hi all

Our 9.40pm forecast:
BRISBANE METROPOLITAN AREA:
Fine overnight. Some rain developing during Sunday. NE to N'ly
winds, freshening during Sunday.Brisbane Airport Min 17 Max 26
UV Index - 10 (extreme)Outlook Monday - Becoming fine. Max 29
Tuesday - Afternoon storms. Max 31
Wednesday - Shower or two. Max 25

The shrs & t'storms over the inland tonight (though not in SEQ because
there's no lightning right now) should flatten out and move over us as rain
during tomorrow helped about by an upper trough. I'll still be looking for
storm dev't tomorrow especially as cu congestus was around until the mid
afternoon when high level cloud moved through.

But I look to Tuesday - it might be a day. The total totals are looking
pretty good but it's not always good to rely on them. But...there's a HUGE
section of SW Qld and NW NSW that are forecast on Monday to get severe
storms - just hope the moisture's not too high up top.

I'll probably email same time tomorrow about our chances.

See ya...good luck to everyone who may be chasing tomorrow.

James
